Assisted Living

Assisted living communities go by a variety of different names: residential care homes, adult homes, personal care homes, and group homes just to name a few. Many times, they are a great option for individuals who cannot function in an independent living environment and do not need nursing care on a daily basis. They are designed to provide a special combination of residential housing and personalized supportive services such as grooming, bathing, dressing, meals, medication management, housekeeping and other daily activities just to name a few. The amount of help provided depends on individual need. Even though these residential settings are designed to maximize independence and meet the individual needs of those requiring help with activities of daily living, they do not provide skilled medical care like those provided in a nursing home.
